The Guest House Inn in Southampton is going to be re-built.
The 2.5-million-dollar structure, on Highway 21 at Bruce County Road 13 intersection, burned down in May.
Owner Amin Bhiwami tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he plans to re-build a bigger hotel with 50-units.
Bhiwami says his initial plans will not have a salt-water pool which the original structure did, but he does have plans to add a pool in the future.
He says if he gets site plan approval on November 28th, he’s ready to put a shovel in the ground by December 1st.
Saugeen Shores administration has indicated there is a minor drainage issue that needs to be addressed before site plan approval can be given.
Town clerk Linda White says the plan also calls for additional landscaping along Highway 21 and additional parking to accommodate the increased number of guests.
No cost figure has been given for the construction of the new Guest House Inn.
