The Grey Bruce Health Services Corporation is going to have to get a bigger plaque wall or a bigger display case.
Several board members — along with President and CEO Maureen Solecki — attended the Ontario Hospital Association Health Achieve convention in Toronto earlier this week and walked away with a couple of awards.
Solecki says the Grey Bruce Health Network, of which GBHS is a part, won an Award of Excellence in the Small, Rural and Northern category.
She says the award is for striving to provide the same consistent health care for patients throughout the network.
It means if a patient went into any hospital with a certain ailment, it would be treated exactly the same no matter where the location.
Solecki says they participate with Hanover and District Hospital and the South Bruce Grey Health Centre for a total of 11 hospitals.
GBHS also received the Silver Award in the Quality Healthcare Workplace competition for the second year in a row.
Solecki says GBHS was one of 14 hospitals chosen for the Silver award, which is given for demonstrating excellence in quality of work-life initiatives.
Solecki says next year they’re going for the gold.
