More musicians are coming together to help Summerfolk.
A second benefit concert is being held tonight, just after the success of last weekend’s benefit, which raised eight thousand dollars.
This one is being held at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Owen Sound.
One of the organizers, Jim Ansell, says they’ll be successful if they raise even a thousand dollars — but he feels it could go higher.
He says admission is very affordable at seven dollars — so he’s hoping more people will have money left over to spend at the concession.
Ansell says Pizza Hut is again helping by donating pizza to sell. There will be snacks and non-alcoholic beverages as well.
The night will feature music from a variety of local musicians, and others who have played at Summerfolk before.
Ansell says when the artists heard the Georgian Bay Folk Society was in financial trouble, they offered help to Jerry Walsh, who decided to put the concert together.
A lot of the performers came up through the Young Discoveries program at Summerfolk.
The performers will start at 7 PM, but doors at the St. Thomas Anglican Church open at 6:15 PM.
It is an all-ages, family event.
