The potential names for the new Banquet Hall facility at Hanover Raceway have been narrowed down to three.
General Manager Gord Dougan confirms that a meeting last night pared the potential names for the facility down to either ” The Hanover Entertainment Centre “, ” Copperstone ” and ” Carriage Hall “.
Dougan relates all three names have merit for the 9 million dollar, 30 thousand square foot facility.
” The Hanover Entertainment Centre ” is an obvious comment on the location of the Hall which is adjacent to the P & H Centre, the community pool, the racetrack and the Ontario Lottery & Gaming Corporation slots.
” Copperstone ” is a reference to the look of the new venue which will feature a beautiful stone pattern with copper trim.
And ” Carriage Hall ” is an equine reference to illustrate the long history of horses in life and leisure in the Hanover region.
While a committee will choose the eventual new name, Dougan invites the public to share their thoughts with him at the track.
A marketing company will present a logo design and concept to the building committee within the next week and Dougan hopes the facility will be operational by November of next year.
