It will be official Thursday — Bill Sornberger will be the new police chief in Owen Sound.
A change of Command swearing in ceremony will be held at 11 AM at the Bayshore Community Centre.
Sornberger becomes the 14th Chief of police in the Scenic city, replacing Tom Kaye who retired earlier this year.
The ceremony will be held in the Christie Hare Rooms at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Owen Sound Mayor Deb Haswell, MPP Bill Walker, MP Larry Miller, City hall staff, Owen Sound police service members have all be invited to take part in the ceremony.
Former Police Chief Tom Kaye, and several family members of friends of the new Police chief are expected to be on hand as well.
