Some staff that make up the Owen Sound Family Health Team are busy moving today.
The new 80 thousand square foot Owen Sound Medical Centre at the corner of 1st Avenue and 14th Street West is nearly complete.
Executive Director of the Owen Sound Family Health Team Carolyn Grace says all 18 family physicians will be moved in by December 12th.
Her office, Suite 24 at the Professional Centre, is moving today.
Grace says that includes their allied health professional team and administration.
According to Grace, Alpha Street physicians and nurse practitioners and Dr. Whittle move in on the 17th and 18th of November.
Then the Greystone physicians and nurse practitioners move in on the 24th and 25th, Eastview physicians move on the 1st and 2nd of December, and Doctors Katie Van Alphen and Donald Huntsberger on the 8th and 9th of December.
The three-storey structure is built on a three-acre site by developer Amico Properties Inc.
The estimated cost is slightly below 20 million dollars.
About 42 thousand square feet of the building will be leased by the family health team, which will consist of 18 Owen Sound physicians and health professionals — leaving about 38 thousand square feet to be rented out.
Close to one million dollars has been spent cleaning the contaminated waterfront property.
