The federal government is helping in the restoration of the Greenwood Cemetery Cenotaph.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller says the federal contribution is roughly 24 hundred dollars.
The monument commemorates the members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows who lost their lives in the First World War.
Miller announced the funding on behalf of the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs.
Funding for this initiative is provided through the Cenotaph/Monument Restoration Program.
On Friday, Larry Miller announced Ottawa was providing 14 thousand 500 dollars to help restore the Cenotaph at Tobermory.
Through this program, the Government of Canada works in partnership with community groups and local organizations dedicated to maintaining the countrys more than 6,000 cenotaphs and monuments with the standard of care and dignity they deserve.
