There’s another round of flu shot clinics in Grey Bruce this week.
There’s a clinic today from 1 PM to 8 PM at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, in Owen Sound.
Tuesday at Bruce Peninsula School in Lions Head you can get a flu shot from 4 PM to 8 PM.
On Wednesday from 3 PM to 8 PM — a clinic is being held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Walkerton and on Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Peninsula Shores School in Wiarton.
Last week over 600 people attended clinics in Hanover, Port Elgin and Lucknow.
The Health Unit says those numbers are similar to last year’s attendance.
Two weeks ago Public Health administered just over one thousand flu shots to the public through clinics in Walkerton, Owen Sound and Port Elgin.
The Health Unit says each year, almost one quarter of Canadians will suffer from influenza.
And research shows that healthy adults immunized with the influenza vaccine were 43 per cent less likely to miss work than their unimmunized colleagues.
On average, 40 people die of influenza and pneumonia each year in Grey Bruce, 95 per cent are seniors.
