Efforts to save the Summerfolk festival in Owen Sound continue tonight.
Musicians are coming together to put on a benefit concert to save the summer concert series.
Among the performers are former Artistic Director Richard Knechtel, and Bruce Peninsula singer-songwriter Samantha Martin.
Since it was first announced that the Georgian Bay Folk Society may have to cancel the concert due to a lack of funds, 12-thousand dollars has been raised by the community.
President Ruth Parsons says she’s surprised and pleased at how quickly the community has come together.
She says they need to raise 25 thousand dollars to carry them through until the spring, when grant money will kick in.
Tonight’s concert will also feature past Summerfolk performers The Arrogant Worms, and Mike Ford of Moxy Fruvous.
Doors open at the Bayshore Community Centre tonight at 8 PM.
