If you know how to swing a hammer or just enjoy rolling up sleeves and helping out — than you can take part in the Habitat for Humanity Build in Hanover.
A Volunteer Information Session is taking place tonight at 7 PM at the Hanover Missionary Church.
Anyone interested in volunteering with next Spring’s build is encouraged to attend.
Mayor Kathi Maskell calls the Hanover build project exciting because it will help not one but eight families.
The project involves constructing four semi detached homes that will house eight families.
The project will take place on 14th Street on a green belt between 10th and 11th Avenue.
The shovel will hit the ground this Spring.
Maskell says the project is about giving families a hand up, not a hand out.
This is the second Habitat Build project to come to Hanover.
