Bluewater District School Board Vice-Chair John Chapman will not be seeking the position of Vice-Chair or Chair when elections are held at the December 6th regular meeting.
Chapman made the announcement at the November 1st regular meeting.
He has served as Vice Chair on three different occasions and feels it’s time to let someone else have a go.
Chapman says he’s sure there are others around the table that would be interested in taking over the position.
He says he doesn’t see the Vice Chair position as what he calls a Senate Appointment until age 75.
He says he has appreciated the opportunity to serve as Vice-Chair and is confident the board will choose a good successor.
Chapman will remain on the board as trustee of West Grey and Hanover until 2014.
