BDO Canada Limited is seeking court permission to auction off the remaining assets of Grew Boats.
For the Grew Boats building itself on highway 6, just outside of Owen Sound, BDO Senior Vice-President Bill Courage says they’re recommending a separate reserve bid.
Courage tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they will be in court on (WED) November 2nd to obtain permission — and with court approval — proceed with the auction.
The plans call for the auction to be held on November 17th — and Jim Snider’s Sydenham Auction and Appraisal Services is the recommended auctioneer.
At an auction in late August — hundreds of people attended, purchasing numerous items like cars and boats.
But Courage says they didn’t find an acceptable bid for the boat manufacturing business itself.
Grew Boats has liabilities of more than two million dollars owed to about one hundred creditors including two dozen employees.
