More free flu shots are available this week in Grey Bruce.
Today the Grey Bruce Health Unit is putting on a clinic at Hanover Heights Elementary School from 3 PM to 8 PM.
There’s also a free clinic tomorrow at North Port Elementary School in Port Elgin from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Thursday at Lucknow Central School from 4 PM to 8 PM.
The clinics in Durham and Owen Sound last week saw close to 700 people (684) roll up their sleeves.
Last year, 821 people came out to the same two clinics.
The Health Unit says each year, almost one quarter of Canadians will suffer from influenza.
And research shows that healthy adults immunized with the influenza vaccine were 43 per cent less likely to miss work than their unimmunized colleagues.
On average, 40 people die of influenza and pneumonia each year in Grey Bruce, 95 per cent are seniors.
