Close to 200 local caregivers are being honoured in a ceremony today.
The Southwest Community Care Access Centre — in partnership with thehealthline.ca — is holding the first of three “Heroes in the Home” award ceremonies in the region.
Cate Patchett — a Corporate Liason with CCAC — says caregivers help those living with illness, disability and aging challenges.
They are often invisible to the larger community, and make a huge difference in the lives of those being helped.
The award ceremony is being held Thursday from 3:30 PM to 5 PM at Stone Tree Golf and Fitness club on Highways 6 and 10 just south of Owen Sound.
Another ceremony is being held in Stratford next Thursday to recognize caregivers in Huron and Perth Counties.
