The gala fundraiser to support the Owen Sound Emancipation Festival is being hailed a success.
Festival Chair Blaine Courtney tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they will see a profit of likely 25-hundred to three thousand dollars once everything is counted.
The first ever Gala Fundraiser featured a one-woman performance by Leslie McCurdy of the Windsor area.
McCurdy did two shows that featured prominent women in Canada’s Black History.
About 150 people attended the show at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound Saturday night.
