The environmental study report as well as the plant design for Grand Bend’s Sewage Treatment facility expansion and upgrade have been sent to the municipalities of South Huron, Lambton Shores, and Bluewater.
If all council’s accept the preliminary reports, construction for the project could be only months away.
Bluewater CAO Lori Wolfe says the two documents will go out for public comment for 30 days before the project moves to final design.
Wolfe says if all goes well they’re hoping to put shovels in the ground within 10 months.
Copy’s of the plans will be available at all three municipal offices for people to look over.
Wolfe says they have just received 15 million dollars from the Province and Federal government for to help build the plant which is about two-thirds of the cost.
She ad’s Bluewater’s share in the project is dependent on the amount of usage that goes to the plant.
