Public Health Nurses in Grey Bruce are threatening to strike.
The 38 public health nurses who work at the Grey Bruce Health Unit will be in a legal strike position on November 16th.
The workers — who are members of the Ontario Nurses Association — voted 91 per cent in favour of job action.
The ONA and the Grey Bruce Health Unit have been in contract talks for four months.
Now mediation is scheduled for November 14th and 15th.
The nurses union claims the two sides are still far apart on the issues of wages, job security and job posting provisions.
Should mediation fail — the nurses will hold a final strike vote.
The public health nurses are responsible for immunizations and many health education programs.
