The oldest living police officer in Owen Sound has died.
Murray Gibbons died last Friday at the age of 93.
Gibbons — whose nickname was “Wiener” — worked for Owen Sound Police from 1950 to 1978.
The Meaford native was also a Corporal with the Canadian Army and landed in Normandy on D-Day with the Armored division.
Gibbons was also the first paper boy of the Meaford Express.
A private family service will be held for Murray Gibbons.
