The Grey Bruce Health Unit has 30 days to decide on charges for Durham area raw milk farmer Michael Schmidt.
As we first told you on Monday — lab tests have confirmed that milk at Schmidt’s rally last Thursday was was unpasteurized.
Manager of Health Protection Chris Munn insists raw milk is not safe to drink.
Munn tells Bayshore Broadcasting News now that lab tests have confirmed it was raw milk, they will consult with their lawyers and decide what charges should be laid.
This is Day 20 of Schmidt’s hunger strike to protest the prosecution of his cow share program.
Late last month, Justice Tetley upheld 15 charges against Schmidt for the production and distribution of raw milk.
