This probably wasn’t in their birth plan.
A Goderich woman went in to labour early Thursday morning and was on her way to hospital in Stratford with her fiance.
Just outside of Seaforth, their pick-up truck struck a deer and caused some damage to the front end — but the couple continued on their way.
Ten minutes outside of Stratford, the truck began to smoke and they were forced to pull over to the side of the road.
The fiance flagged down a passing motorist who drove them to Stratford General Hospital.
About two hours later, the woman gave birth to a healthy, seven pound baby boy.
