The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton is finding a huge economic savings with their volunteer workers.
Volunteer Coordinator Aggie Chatterton says they crunched the numbers, and based on a figure just over minimum wage, volunteers have saved the museum 57 thousand dollars in this year alone.
Chatterton says there have been more than 45-hundred volunteer hours recorded to date and she’s very grateful for the help.
She says there’s no way the museum would be able to run without them, as the budget would not cover all of the work the volunteers do.
Chatterton says they have volunteers from all walks of life — from students, to single moms, to seniors.
And she says they have all enjoyed their experience working with the museum, as they all learn something new and improve their own skills as well.
