The Bruce-Grey-Owen-Sound riding will remain Tory blue.
Newcomer Bill Walker has won in his first ever election campaign, replacing his predecessor, Conservative Bill Murdoch, as MPP.
Even though the Liberals have won another term as government, Walker says he’ll still work to have the people of Bruce-Grey-Owen-Sound heard at Queen’s Park.
Walker says it’s just a matter of effectively communicating to the Liberals what it is the people want.
He says the first issue he will take on is the Green Energy Act.
Walker feels the Conservatives won in a lot of rural Ontario ridings because the Liberals continue to try to steamroll that policy through.
He says at the very minimum, the PC’s have to find a way to slow it down.
Walker says the job ahead for him and his party is to build bridges with the government, and show them that they’ve all been elected to work for the people.
