The Hanover Library wants to help remove barriers that make it difficult for our seniors to enjoy reading.
A few local service providers will be on hand at the library today for an Accessibility Expo.
Librarian Norma Graham says the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and Parker’s Home Health Care will set up displays and be ready to answer any questions and provide information.
She says the library will also have a display of large-print and audio-books — which are other ways that those experiencing vision loss can continue to read.
It may seem unusual for this type of expo to be held in a library, but Graham says the library is an important component in the fabric of the community.
She says with a large aging population in Grey-Bruce, the library wants to be able to serve seniors to the best of its abilities.
Admission to the Accessibility Expo is free, and it runs from 10AM until 6:30PM.
