Today you definitely want to bring an apple for the teacher.
It is World Teacher’s Day.
The day was created by UNESCO in 1994, designating October 5th as the day to internationally celebrate teachers and the contributions they make to our lives.
Bluewater District School Board Chair Marg Gaviller says the daily work teachers do is critical to the success of the students.
She says she would like to extend a sincere thank you to each and every one of them.
Gaviller adds they’re fortunate to have dedicated, caring and experienced teaching staff in all Bluewater schools, that regularly go beyond their call of duty as educators to set positive examples.
She hopes everybody will take a moment today to thank a teacher.
