The partner of the company that wants to purchase the Owen Sound Golf and Country Club is elated.
Kinsale Investments is based in Flesherton and is owned by Kevin O’Brien and his brothers — who are home builders in Aurora.
O’Brien tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he is surprised his bid for Owen Sound Golf and Country is the one picked by BDO Canada.
O’Brien says they plan to leave the historic course as is — and they do not have plans to alter the design.
In July, BDO Canada assumed control of the bankrupt club with a 1.1 million dollar debt to the Bank of Montreal.
The purchase by Kinsale Investments still requires approval from Superior Court of Justice.
There’s no word on when that may happen, but it’s expected a deal for the Stanley Thomson designed course will close before the end of October.
