With the October 6th provincial election fast approaching — Bruce Grey Owen Sound candidates are making the final push to get your vote.
It was a packed house at the most recent all candidates debate in Keady.
Taking part in the debate were Green candidate Don Marshall, Conservative Bill Walker, Liberal Kevin Eccles, Independent Shane Jolley, Paul Johnstone of the NDP and Joel Kidd with the Family Coalition Party.
All of the candidates count jobs, taxes, the economy, agriculture and healthcare as top priorities for this riding.
Green candidate Don Marshall says attracting jobs to the region and keeping them here is a major issue.
Shane Jolley feels there is a real benefit to running as an independent candidate — in that he’s able to keep the interests of Bruce – Grey Owen Sound constituents at heart.
Conservative Bill Walker, meanwhile — notes he’s been impressed with how Tim Hudak has handled the pressure of the Ontario Premiership race.
Liberal Candidate Kevin Eccles says he’s logged a lot of miles touring around the riding during this campaign…and tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that his party’ track record with local infrastructure should speak for itself.
Paul Johnstone with the NDP says he feels he ran a good campaign — and is confident heading into the home stretch.
Joel Kidd with the Family Coalition Party says his party will work to keep Ontario families at the forefront.
All of the candidates are running to replace outgoing Conservative MPP Bill Murdoch.
