Despite slow ticket sales this past summer, the promoters of Big Music Fest will bring the concert back to Owen Sound in 2012.
And with the promise that the concert will be back, council decided on Monday night to refund the deposit to concert organizers — somewhere around 65 hundred dollars.
Promoter Mark Higgins says he knows what fits in our area and this summer he’s working on a line-up that will excite the audience.
He says he wasn’t too comfortable with last summer’s line-up, and didn’t pay the attention he should have to detail.
And he says the slow start to ticket sales — 209 in 7 days — confirmed that the region wasn’t excited.
Higgins tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he has about 70 per cent of the line-up confirmed, and expects to make announcements in late November.
Higgins would only tell us this about the potential headliner — it’s the biggest he’s done in the region, and they’ve never been here before.
