The future of whether or not Kincardine and region gets natural gas service could be decided in a survey that is underway now.
The chair of the Penatangore Regional Economic Development Corporation (PREDC) is Jim Prenger.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, he has heard from Union Gas officials and they continue with their telephone survey.
Prenger believes the survey will be completed by the end of the month.
To that end, Prenger urges anyone who gets a call from Union Gas to take part in the survey to help them get an honest assessment of the need for the survey.
Prenger says if some are against the proposed natural gas service and are called — he hopes they will voice their opinions as well.
A meeting was held last week for consumers who are interested in the natural gas project.
Prenger says Union Gas is making random calls to residents in the municipalities of Kincardine, Huron Kinloss and Arran Elderslie.
All three have expressed an interest in getting the service to their respective areas.
Union Gas says the entire project will cost about 44 million-dollars if they decide to go ahead.
