Bruce Grey Owen Sound NDP Candidate Paul Johnstone is putting on a music fundraiser dubbed “Rock the Vote.”
Johnstone hopes this will help energize youth to get involved in the political process as never before.
Johnstone feels this election more than ever is about the youth, with big ticket items like education, jobs and energy policy front and centre.
His Campaign Manager Terri-Anne Johnstone says “Rock the Vote” starts Friday afternoon at 3 PM with a barbeque and meet and greet at the Owen Sound Royal Canadian Legion.
The concert itself, also at the Legion, begins at 7 PM and runs until 1 AM.
Local bands rocking the vote include Rewired and Steve Dickinson.
Although there’s more bands on the bill, Johnstone says the mystery bands won’t be revealed until the show begins.
Tickets for the NDP fundraiser can be purchased at Fromager’s Music, Sunpoint and Mr. Inkbee in Owen Sound.
