For the first time Owen Sound will be hosting a MedQUEST Camp while Walkerton will host its fourth.
MedQUEST is a health care careers exploration camp.
The Chair of the Walkerton MedQUEST committee Myrna Inglis says the one-week summer program is designed for students who are in grades 10 and 11 who may be thinking of entering a health profession.
Inglis says the basic concept is that students exposed to the variety of health care careers in their own community are more likely to return to their community.
The Walkerton camp will be held at Sacred Heart High School July 6th to 10th.
Meanwhile, OSCVI in Owen Sound is about to host its first ever camp July 13th to 17th.
Chair of the Owen Sound committee Allison Whyte says if you wish to apply for either camp, it must be done on line and a letter of reference will be needed from a teacher.
The Walkerton camp will take 40 applicants while the Owen Sound camp will start with 18.
Students have from now until March 13th to apply at www.medquestwestern.ca
