Chair of the organizing committee Todd Devries says the derby is expanding into Georgian Bay.
Devries says the boundary on Lake Huron will remain Port Albert in the south to Stokes Bay in the north.
But now the Georgian Bay boundary will be Dundas Point in the south to Cabot Head in the north.
Devries says the idea is to allow fishing during the derby for all participants and give smaller boaters options during periods of high wind conditions.
He says the 2009 dates are set.
The derby will run from July 25th to August 8th.
All funds generated from the derby go directly into the Lake Huron Fishing Club towards their efforts to stock salmon and trout from their hatcheries in Port Elgin and Kincardine.
