Irwin Seidman has only been on the job less than two months after leaving a life of corporate banking in Toronto.
He’s got almost three decades of experience mainly dealing with small business.
Seidman and his family moved to Owen Sound four years ago after falling in love with the area while on vacation.
He says he’d like to see the Downtown Improvement Area build on the downtown’s great foundation of community.
Seidman says a downtown is more than a bunch of stores…its also a place to live, work, play and be entertained.
He says he’d also like to see the DIA change its image…not because of anything that’s happened previous…but because the world is changing and they have to respond to that.
In these tough economic times… Seidman would like to see the DIA’s role expand to helping to facilitate continuing education for small businesses.
He says he can see them assisting with things such as customer service training, window dressing workshops and book keeping for small business.
