The CEO of the Grey-Bruce Health Centre says the organization’s books will be balanced, as long as the province comes through.
Paul Davies says the budget will be balanced based on the assumption that the province comes through with a 2.1 percent funding increase.
He says they won’t know if that’s happening until the provincial budget is introduced.
Davies says that’s likely going to happen at the end of March.
He says there is some question remaining until that time if agencies like hospitals and municipalities will be receiving the funding that was promised to them.
Meanwhile, South Bruce Grey received 30 thousand dollars in the most recent round of special funding for small hospitals.
South Bruce Grey has four sites while other small single-site hospitals received more funding.
Davies says the Local Health Integration Network has suggested to the province that South Bruce Grey receive more money next time.
The good news however is that 30 thousand dollars of provincial “growth” funding is on the way.
Davies says the LHIN asked all of the hospital CEO’s in its territory to come up with a formula for how the money should be divided and the South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s amount was based on that calculation.
