Expectant mothers in Owen Sound have someone else to welcome their new bundles of joy with them.
The Welcome Wagon is hosting a Baby Shower today.
Spokesperson Mary Anderson says it’s just one initiative they’re taking on to raise the profile of the Welcome Wagon in the Owen Sound community.
Anderson says the Welcome Wagon is there for people who are making a lifestyle change.
Anderson says they’re planning to do 30 to 40 community visits per month and they also have a committee to visit the new babies in the hospital.
She says they’ll also focus on a professional welcoming for any new businesses in the area.
Anderson says they’re also trying to get Welcome Wagon organizations up and running in the Meaford and Wiarton areas.
Anderson says all expectant mothers are invited to the baby shower.
There will be 14 local businesses as well as some national and civic sponsors that will have tables set up at the show.
The doors open at the Days Inn at 2 PM.
