An operating surplus of one million dollars is projected for this school year.
Director of Education Mary Anne Alton says the board has been trying to reduce operating costs in order to deal with its ongoing deficit.
She says with the surplus, the board’s deficit going into next year will go from just over two million dollars to slightly above one million.
Alton says Bluewater is gradually getting itself out of a deficit position by reducing operating costs.
