Bruce County fully supports the new nuclear build at Bruce Power.
Warden Milt McIver says the county has always supported the Bruce site.
McIver says the new build would secure the economic future for the county.
Co-chair of Citizens for Bruce C, Dave Trumble says here has been overwhelming community response for a new nuclear plant to be located in Bruce County.
He says they have received over 12 thousand signatures on an on-line petition as well as support from all 8 Bruce County municipalities.
The Ministry of Energy is expected to make a decision soon on the possible locations for new builds.
Trumble says the Bruce Power new build proposal is currently progressing through a federally regulated environmental assessment process.
He says it could deliver the first new nuclear generation by 2016, adding the new build would secure the Bruce site for the next 60 years.
