There is currently no end in sight for the strike at the Grey Bruce Health Unit.
Medical Officer of Health Doctor Hazel Lynn says while they are continuing status quo, it has been frustrating.
Lynn says management has taken over the clerical jobs, adding all of the health unit’s programs and services are operating as usual.
She says the biggest hassle has been the hold-up of getting people into work in the morning.
Lynn says they are trying to deal with it patiently, adding the strike situation has calmed down over the last couple of weeks.
She says there were reports of people jumping on cars, strikers yelling and harassing other staff members and blocking the street and parking lot.
Lynn says people are tired are not being at work, adding they want them back.
Lynn says she would be happy if the union would come back to the bargaining table — OPSEU left the table initially after turning down an offer from the health unit.
The 27 clerical and office staff have been on the picket line since May 1st.
The main issue is wage parity with other health units around the province.
