Thank you, we’ll take it.
That’s the reaction of the President of the Port Elgin Business Improvement Area Charles Ebenstreit, to a $25,000 donation from Smart Centre, which is building in the south end of town.
Smart Centre’s associate Andrew Dalgliesh made the contribution announcement at a recent Saugeen Shores council meeting.
Ebenstreit says he understands the money will come in $5,000 increments over the next five years.
He says his group is always open to financial donations from anyone.
Ebenstreit says the money will help defray costs for a planned infrastructure study within the BIA.
He says they’re looking at street lighting and upgrading benches and so on.
Ebenstreit says business people in downtown Port Elgin are not too concerned with the Smart Centre construction which will house a Wal Mart; a Canadian Tire and a Mark’s Work Wearhouse.
He says his members are looking forward to a busy and successful summer season downtown.
