Firefighters in Elmwood are putting their culinary skills to the test.
They have been slaving over the grill all morning and now it’s time for the public to enjoy the fruits of their labor today.
Firefighter Training Officer John Brunner encourages the public to bring their appetite to the 8th annual Elmwood Firemen’s Breakfast.
The menu includes: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, coffee and juice.
All monies raised will go towards the purchase of future firefighting equipment.
It’s just $6 for adults and children under 12 eat for $3.
More than 700 people are expected to attend.
Brunner says the firefighters have made a few changes to this years event to get the crowds served quicker — with extra grills.
Firefighters will also use this morning’s venue as a chance to promote fire safety and education.
They will be offering fire extinguisher training to the public on site.
The Firemen’s Breakfast isn’t the only attraction in Elmwood today, Elmwood is also hosting a Community Wide Yard Sale today.
So after the public has satisfied their appetite they can hit the streets in search of bargains and treasures.
