A 15 year old Walkerton girl is among the top winners at this year’s Canada Wide Science Fair.
Megan Schlorff won two gold medals — including the VIA Rail Environmental Innovation scholarship worth 10 thousand dollars.
The Grade 9 student from Sacred Heart completed a project called “Let the River Flow”.
It looked at how agricultural run off can affect the Saugeen River watershed — and it found levels of nitrates, E. coli and coliforms in the water.
Schlorff’s project will be showcased at the Enviro Expo Festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa this summer.
Students from Grey Bruce also won two silver medals and two bronze medals as well as four other special awards at the National Science Fair in Ottawa.
