Chatsworth is looking at increased security and restricting under-agers at buck and doe’s.
Councillor Terry McKay says minors should be denied at all Buck and Doe events within the township.
He says it will make it easier for the police to control the event, adding the alcohol servers will not have to be on the look out for under-age drinking.
McKay says the township alcohol policy needs to be stricter — it currently only prohibits minors without prior notice and approval from council.
Council will also look at the issue of security at such events.
Mayor Howard Greig says security is only required at events with over 300 people in attendance.
Greig says these two issues of minors and security stem from a recent incident at a stag and doe at the Chatsworth Community Centre.
Grey County OPP say two men ended up fighting with several people during the event — three people were taken to hospital while others were treated at the scene.
Greig says council does not tolerate this type of activity at any of its facilities.
