Summerfolk is looking for a new leader.
The Georgian Bay Folk Society is seeking a candidate to organize the Summerfolk Music and Craft Festival in Owen Sound for 2012 and 2013.
Society President Ruth Parsons tells Bayshore Broadcasting News Artistic Director Richard Knechtel, will not be renewing his contract after five years on the job.
Parson says it is a part-time job with a two year contractual commitment.
The Artistic Director works in collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Summerfolk Co-ordinators Committee — bringing artistic vision to the programming of the festival.
Summerfolk, which just celebrated its 36th year, takes place the third weekend of August in Owen Sound.
It is a family oriented, interactive event that focuses on an eclectic, multi-cultural line-up, that appeals to all ages.
Summerfolk is presented by the Georgian Bay Folk Society (GBFS).
The Festival has a well established volunteer base and organizational structure.
