A woman who was bitten by a dog does not have to go through post exposure rabies treatment.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it has found the black Labrador Retriever that bit the woman — and it is healthy and has its rabies shots.
Officials say the owner of the dog came forward after hearing the story in the news.
The woman was bitten by the dog on Wednesday after she reached into a car to pet the animal in the Kincardine Foodland parking lot.
As a precaution, the dog will remain in isolation for the remainder of the observation period.
All dogs involved in biting incidents are confined regardless of vaccine status.
