The Ontario Public Service Employees Union has identified wages and job security as major issues.
OPSEU represents about eight thousand cleaners, food service staff, registration officers and other workers at the province’s 24 colleges — including Georgian College.
The colleges have vowed to remain open during the strike — using management and non-unionized part time staff.
