A delegation from the Bluewater District School Board finally had their meeting with finance officials from the Ministry of Education.
Board chair Marg Gaviller says the meeting took place in Barrie on August 17th.
It had been postponed when they tried to meet in early July.
Gaviller says the two officials explained how the funding formula comes about.
She indicated that officials thought the Bluewater Board was meeting the benchmarks.
Back in June when the meeting was being set up for early July, several trustees expressed frustration at how late the budget guidelines are presented to the board.
It was early last May when the finance committee was given the information and trustees had to scramble to come up with a balanced budget by the end of June.
Gaviller says they brought that concern to the officials who will take the issue up with ministry officials at Queen’s Park.
Gaviller says she was generally pleased with the meeting and the information from it will be shared with trustees in the next few weeks.
