A fundraising dinner for PC candidate Bill Walker is set for Friday night in Owen Sound.
Walker is running for the Conservatives in Bruce Grey Owen Sound, hoping to replace the retiring Bill Murdoch in the Ontario legislature after October 6th.
Federal Minister of Labour Lisa Raitt will be the guest speaker at the “gala dinner” for Walker.
Raitt is a lawyer who prior to being elected to the House of Commons in 2008, was President and CEO of the Toronto Port Authority.
Bill Walker was born and raised in Bruce county, and has been involved in several social and economic issues in the area.
He was involved in the raising of three million dollars for the Lion’s Head and Wiarton hospitals.
The gala dinner is being held at the Best Western Inn on the Bay in Owen Sound beginning at 6 PM with cocktails and dinner at 7 PM.
The cost is 135 dollars per person with participants getting a tax receipt for 100 dollars .
