Two Owen Sound residents are facing drug trafficking charges — following a pair of raids by Police.
Late Thursday afternoon — officers from the Owen Sound and OPP Drug Units, along with the OPP Emergency Response Team, arrested a male and female at a Shallow Lake address.
Police searched the Shallow Lake address, and subsequently searched another residence at 805 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound.
The searches yielded 47 thousand dollars worth of cocaine and 13 thousand dollars worth of marijuana.
Also seized was a money counting machine, scales and other drug paraphernalia…as well as a 2009 Ford Focus.
Detective Sergeant Mark Kielb with the Owen Sound Police Service says the amount of cocaine seized is a significant blow to the local drug trade.
Kielb says this is an ongoing investigation that began two months ago in Owen Sound.
28-year-old Grant Farley and 25-year-old Ashleigh Dykstra, both of Owen Sound, have been charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
They appeared for a bail hearing in Owen Sound Court Friday morning.
