With the Ontario election just a month away, the battle over wind turbines is heating up.
The President of Preserve Grey Highlands Citizens Alliance, Larry Close, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News three meetings are being held this week in the area as Wind Concerns Ontario holds rallies against the Giant turbines.
Those meetings are Wednesday and Thursday — with rallies in Underwood, Meaford and Clinton.
Close says the President of Wind Concerns Ontario will rally in Underwood in the afternoon.
It is as the farm of Norma and Ron Schmidt who live among the turbines.
After that rally in the early afternoon, Wind Concerns will campaign for the local Conservative candidate in Huron Bruce.
In the evening, Wind Concerns President John LaForet will be at Meaford Hall.
There is a fund raising session for Liberal Kevin Eccles that includes an appearance by Minister of Environment John Wilkinson and LaForet wants to protest wind farms at that meeting.
It begins at 6 PM in Meaford.
The third session is in Clinton on Thursday.
A rally is planned in the Huron County community at 6 PM, in the park one block north of Highway 8 near the Clinton Library.
