The 2nd annual Bayshore Race in Owen Sound takes place Sunday and over 500 participants are set to take part.
The Bayshore Race allows runner and walkers to collect pledges in support of the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation.
Race Director Greg Nicol says all proceeds this year will support the purchase of new equipment for the hospital’s Mammography Department.
The Bayshore Race challenges runners and power-walkers in timed Half Marathon, 5-K and 10-K road races.
The first race begins at 8 AM Sunday from the Bayshore Community Centre.
Nicol says new this year is that if you raise one hundred dollars, your race entry fee is waived.
Last year, the first annual Bayshore race raised 22 thousand dollars.
Races begin and end at the Bayshore Community Centre on the East shore of the Owen Sound harbour.
Also new this year is a 1-K race for kids 13 and under.
