A 33 year old man of no fixed address faces charges after a convenience store clerk was attacked on Saturday.
Owen Sound Police say about 2 AM, a man tried to steal some lottery tickets and food from a downtown store.
He was approached by the clerk — and the suspect then attacked the clerk punching, biting and slamming the clerk onto the ground.
Police say the man drew blood from the clerks finger and wrist through large bite marks.
The victim was transported to the hospital with significant but not life threatening injuries to his forehead, cheek, finger and wrist areas where he was treated and released.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing on charges of theft, mischief, assault, assault causing bodily harm, aggravated assault and breach of probation.
